BRANDON MARCELE SPENCER PRIMUS

B i o g r a p h y

As an innovator in music, Brandon Marcele Spencer Primus’ career as a multi-instrumentalist, primarily a saxophonist, has encompassed the roles of composer, arranger, and performer. Brandon is heavily influenced by Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Anita Baker, Grover Washington, Jr., and Kenny G. His style described as climatic, progressive, with Funk, and R&B sound that is smooth and high energy.


Brandon was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. His music career spans over two decades. His musical talent blossomed in high school where he played in the Huntington High School Jazz Ensembleunder the direction of Jordan "Chuck" Edwards, and Darryl Evans. While still in high school, he landed a major gig playing at the Miss Teen USA Pageant at the age of 17.


After graduating from Huntington High School, Brandon attended the Berklee College of Music. He received his Bachelor of Music with a concentration in music business, and served as President of the Student Government Association. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, Brandon moved to New York and simultaneously achieved both corporate and artistic success. Brandon has held corporate positions at: Columbia Records, A&R
Talent Scout; Lord and Taylor, Business Analyst; and the New York Times Company,Advertising Representative.


As an artist Brandon has performed at: Ashford & Simpson's Sugar Bar, Cafe Wha, Club Groove NYC, the Village Underground, and BB King's Jazz and Blues Night Club in Times Square. In California Brandon has performed at 98 Bottles, Four Points by Sheraton, 98.1 Smooth Jazz Festival, The USS Midway Museum, Palihouse Holloway in West Holly-wood, and Pechanga Casino Resort in Temecula. Brandon has also performed at Scullers, the Berklee Performance Center in Boston, MA; the JVC Jazz Festival in Miami Florida, and many venues throughout Shreveport, La and Dallas, TX. A special moment in 2006 occurred when Brandon became three-time champion at the legendary “Showtime at the Apollo.


Formerly, Brandon was as a Congressional Aide for Congresswoman Susan Davis [CA-53]. Brandon received a Juris Doctor from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law San Diego, CA (2012). Most recently Brandon was accepted to the prestigious Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs to study International Finance and Economic Public Affairs.
